Agriturismo La Terra

We came away loving the quiet at La Terra, and would happily return. There’s plenty to see nearby, including Cortona, but it’s also very easy to stay put and tune out the rest of the world. The meals were a real highlight: breakfast and dinner were homemade, generous, and delicious. Andrea’s cooking class was unforgettable, too. Thank you! Our first agriturismo stay turned out wonderfully. We stayed in Casa Carla, which was spotless and roomy. It had ceiling fans instead of air conditioning, though the room stayed pleasantly cool and we hardly needed them. The huge, beautiful property has a pool, grills, sports facilities, and a stylish terrace with lovely views. Pierpaolo and Ilaria were kind, welcoming, and always helpful.

Watching the sunset from the farm was a special touch, and breakfast was simple but good. We also enjoyed dinner and a fun, interesting cooking class with Chef Andrea, who was absolutely lovely. La Terra is beautiful and peaceful, with a very pleasant atmosphere and wonderful hospitality. One thing to mention: there was a misunderstanding with the host about the cooking class payment, as we hadn’t been told beforehand about the extra charge. We talked it through and came to an understanding, and the service stayed kind and considerate throughout. We had a great time and would recommend it.

The grounds, scenery, and art were all out of this world. Just go with the right expectations: you need to be comfortable around animals, since cats, dogs, a duck, and caged chickens are around the property. The beds are basic and squeaky, and the furnishings are old and plain, but that was fine for us. We weren’t paying for a 5-star resort. For what we paid, it was hard to believe we got to stay somewhere so heavenly, with such friendly, helpful hosts, beautiful views, and delicious food. What can I say, it felt like paradise.

The meals at Agriturismo La Terra were delicious and homemade, and taking a cooking class and eating at the restaurant gave us a lovely chance to get to know the other guests. The rooms were very clean and comfortable, too. From the minute we arrived, the owners and their dogs made us feel welcome. The calm atmosphere and breathtaking views made the place feel like paradise. We had a fantastic stay, and it was one of the highlights of our trip. The hosts were so hospitable, and we’d love to return someday. I’d highly recommend it.
