If we make it back to Montepulciano, fingers crossed, we’ll stay at DelCorto Suites again. Out of six places we visited during three weeks in France and Italy, this was easily our best stay. The setting is superb, with a great communal breakfast and terrific staff and host. Riccardo met us in the parking lot to help with our bags, and even arranged dinner and wine tasting reservations before we arrived. The hotel blends a 16th-century feel with modern comforts like great air conditioning and an excellent shower.

The owners were friendly, and breakfast was simple but did the job, with quick and friendly service. We liked the communal seating area and our historic-feeling room, which was the only one with a patio, a nice bonus on sunny days. The location is great. Just be aware there are two flights of stairs and no elevator, so it’s not ideal if you have limited mobility. Then again, Montepulciano itself isn’t very mobility-friendly.

The location is hard to beat, right in the center of Montepulciano and close to the best restaurants and shops. My boyfriend and I only got to stay one night, but I would’ve happily spent a whole week there. Ricardo’s family has owned the building for centuries, and he restored it to open the suites. It really is a work of art, with beautiful frescoes, bedrooms, living rooms, and even a little chapel, all with such great taste. Breakfast was delicious, with ingredients picked by hand and presented like a high-end restaurant. I highly recommend it if you want a real Tuscan experience and to feel what life might have been like for the noble families back then. Book it, you won’t regret it!

We only stayed one night, which is my only regret. My husband and I were in the Flora Suite, and everything was top notch. Ricardo is such a gracious host. The shower deserves its own mention, it’s worth the price by itself. Breakfast was excellent too, with eggs from Ricardo’s own farm, lovely pastries, and fresh-squeezed juice. Five stars don’t really cover how lovely this place is.

Riccardo was so hospitable, and the service was top shelf. The suites feel fit for royalty, with elegant rooms and very modern bathrooms. You’re right in the heart of Montepulciano, so you can walk everywhere. Thanks for a fabulous time.
