Farmhouse la casella

La Casella farmhouse is a good value and a lovely place to stay. Montepulciano is about a 10-minute drive and Pienza around 30 minutes. There's a small community three minutes away by car with a supermarket, wine, and a shop beside it selling pork and various beef steaks. The house has four cozy bedrooms for nine people and three bathrooms. One room had no hot water for showers, while the other two bathrooms worked. The large kitchen was well equipped with a gas stove, fridge, oven, and washing machine, all in good condition. The Wi-Fi password uses only lowercase letters, and the owner doesn't speak English. Heating was a serious problem during our February stay, when temperatures were below zero. The system only heated for the first hour, then stopped for the rest of the night. It worked poorly all night, and three of us couldn't sleep, especially those in the last two rooms without AC. The first two rooms with heat from the AC were better. If staying in winter, ask the owner to show you how to keep the heating working properly.

The apartment was spacious, clean, and welcoming. Its location worked well as a base for seeing Tuscan cities, towns, and sights. The owner was very friendly and helpful.

Clean house, helpful staff, and tasteful furnishings. It's a really pleasant place if you enjoy being in the countryside around animals.

A distinctive, beautiful house. It doesn't feel like the usual farmhouse.
