Verdidea - PODERE MONTI

The pergola was our favourite place to gather each evening and talk over the day and what we’d do next. There was also a lovely pool, plenty of parking, and vineyards and scenery all around. For visiting other towns, you’ll need a car, but San Albino is walkable. We used the supermarket, patisserie, bar, restaurant, and local bus to Montelpuciano. The huge house had king-size bedrooms with en-suites, so all ten of us were comfortable, and there was room for two more couples. Ten felt like the right number, and the price was fair for everyone. Dealing directly with the owner worked best for price and recommendations. I’d recommend the Tuscan Chefs who came to cook for us, and Sylvia’s local wine. Talk with Sylvia, she was fantastic to deal with.

We had a trip of a lifetime, and the villa was a perfect place for all of us. The grounds, surrounded by cypress trees, vineyards, olive trees, and even rainbows, were incredible. Bedrooms were very comfortable, there was ample living space, and the patio beneath the wisteria was lovely for dinner with 14 people or just getting out of the sun. Silvia gave us a suggested two-week itinerary and great recommendations for van rentals and airport rides for 15 people. Remigio was super dependable. Her suggested chef, TuscanChef, made two dinners a wonderful experience, and the wine tour and tasting at her vineyard with Maritzio and Enrico was unforgettable. Every interaction with Silvia, from our first contact to the farewell hug, was exceptional, and her recommendations are worth trusting. When we settled up on the last day, there were no surprises. She discounted the cases of wine we drank at the villa and had shipped home, along with their olive oil. I could go on and on. The whole time at the villa was perfect.

I’ve returned to Podere Monti four times, in 2015, 2018, 2022, and 2023, and I’m going back next year. It’s a comfortable villa on a beautiful, quiet farm, a short bus ride or drive from Montepulciano. Sant Albino is a short walk away, with several excellent restaurants, a handy grocery store, and a delicious pastry shop. Silvia is a welcoming, kind, and helpful host. It’s a great base for exploring Tuscany, relaxing by the pool, and reconnecting with friends and family. Be sure to try their wine!

Everything about the place felt amazing, from the views and pool to the breakfast. It was super clean, and the hosts were super nice. Kudos to Alberto and the family!
