Terre dei Consoli Golf Club & Resort

We enjoyed our round here. The tee boxes, fairways, and greens are lovely, and the course feels like a beautiful park. An English-speaking staff member checked us in and made us feel welcome as Americans. It was also nice that we didn't need a European golf card. Sandwiches were available at the bar, so grabbing something to go was easy.

Rita at reception was wonderful and offered to drive us across the property to our villa. Otherwise it's a long walk over the golf course. We stayed in 90D and arrived on foot while walking the Via Francigena, without a car. The restaurant shut at 3pm, so there was no dinner option. We had lunch and took the leftovers back to our place, but the kitchen had no basics at all: no salt and pepper, condiments, coffee, or anything else, and nowhere nearby to get them. For $216, I would have expected a few essentials. It makes you wonder if these things get thrown out after every stay. There were also several warnings about fines if we didn't do certain chores, like carry rubbish across the golf course to the clubhouse and sort it into different bins. Really? The cleaning service could handle that.

The rental clubs were good quality, and the pro shop staff were attentive. The front nine was a good course, but a competition ahead of me made the pace painfully slow: it took three hours to finish those nine holes, so I quit the round there. They wouldn't offer credit for playing the remaining nine another day or let me replay the front nine. Golf Nazionale is around the corner and a better deal.

I’ll be back. The clubhouse is new, the greens are impeccable, and the links course has plenty of space. Great staff and the whole place is well organized. It’s an excellent golf club in Monterosi, conveniently close to Rome and Viterbo.
