Hotel Souvenir

Cinque Terre involves lots of walking and hardly any taxis, so I’d bring small carry-ons for this trip. As for the hotel, it was a lovely base for exploring the rest of Cinque Terre, close to the beach, charming shops, and good restaurants, while still feeling peaceful away from the crowds. The whole property was spotless, including the tidy common areas. The room was small, as is typical for Europe, but it was renovated and well maintained. Breakfast was great. From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel welcome and helped with whatever we needed, including recommendations. We loved the front desk girls and the owner, Juliana. What a gem! We wouldn’t hesitate to stay again or recommend it to others visiting the area.

The staff were nice, and the town is beautiful, but this was the worst value for money of any hotel I’ve stayed in. At nearly €300 a night, I expected more. The bed was uncomfortable, and the breakfast buffet was very limited. The croissants were burnt and a day old, and the omelettes they made for us were overcooked to the point of being inedible. The AC didn’t cool the room properly. Also, there’s no parking. Don’t be confused by Expedia or other sites listing it, you can’t drive there to drop off your luggage.

It’s a beautiful place to stay, and the location was very nice. The staff were helpful and spoke English, and breakfast was good. I found the room very small and didn’t enjoy having so little space. I wasn’t sure what to expect from a hotel in such a small village. If you’re bringing luggage, be ready for stairs.

The rooms are on the small side, and there are steps to reach every room, which seems typical for this area. The hotel itself is typical Cinque Terre, with a nice little bar and a spotlessly clean feel. It’s just down a narrow path from one of the main shopping and eating streets. The staff are fabulous, friendly, and helpful. I’d definitely recommend it if you want somewhere comfortable and clean.
