I needed a base for a quick stop in Monza and booked one night, from yesterday to today. Once in the room, I found it too cold and needed a heavier blanket to sleep comfortably in the freezing temperatures, both there and around the city. The thermostat couldn’t be turned on to raise the temperature until October 15th. I asked for help repeatedly, but was eventually told all the blankets had already been sent to the rooms and none were left. They offered no other way to deal with the problem, so I had to find an alternative myself in an urgent situation. Unexpected things can happen, but staff need to respond professionally and quickly when they do. That didn’t happen here, so I can’t say this short stay left me with a positive impression.

I spent a weekend here and will definitely come back. It’s a beautiful, peaceful, almost magical place right in the heart of the city. The renovation was done well.

Don’t book there. That one night turned into an absolute nightmare. We arrived late in Monza on a Saturday after reserving a room while travelling, with plans to continue to Tuscany the next day. We’d received the front door access code on our phones, but no room code. We tried reaching them at several numbers and got no answer, so just before midnight we had to find another place to stay. The following day I got hold of the owner through the cleaning lady. He apologized but wouldn’t refund me. Booking.com wouldn’t acknowledge what happened, saying the stay had taken place. PayPal had received no notification from Booking.com, and Booking.com had received none from the owner, so I ended up paying for two nights for one completely miserable night.

Everything was well looked after, and it’s right in the center. We had a great stay, about a fifteen-minute walk from the station.
