Bonjour

Privacy was a real problem here. The bathroom window looked into the bedroom, the veranda's woven pergola offered no cover from view, and an interior passageway left the owner's study visible with no curtain. The room also had just one proper bedside table and one "bonjour" sign; a chair stood in for the other table, without a sign. Breakfast wasn't much better: there was only one kind of juice, which wasn't our choice, and my ginseng cappuccino tasted more like milk than anything else. We arrived to a place that seemed to have no comforts, and I wouldn't recommend the experience. We were asked to pay in advance, and there was no POS in 2024. What a mess.

The owner was kind and courteous and really tried to help, but the property needs maintenance. The photos showed a cared-for, welcoming place, yet the terrace felt like a construction site: discarded bricks and tiles, an exposed roof, no synthetic grass, and just one broken lounger beside a small table and two chairs. The terrace had no flooring, and the bathroom smelled of sewage. Inside, the bed and pillows were rock hard. The room fridge wouldn't cool even a water bottle, so we had to go down two floors to use the shared guest fridge. There was no TV until we asked, and it arrived the day after we did. The location is okay, though you need a car for the beaches. After two weeks there, the nightly price felt high for the condition of the place. Both routine and major upkeep are lacking. They could improve.

The owners were friendly and helpful, and the price was good for what you get. The house is spacious and has a quaint feel, with useful comforts like air conditioning, a washing machine, a working kitchen, and a rooftop terrace for drying clothes. It's right in the historic center of Achaeia. My only personal drawback was the furniture, which felt too dated.

Mr. Alberto is such a kind host, always welcoming and ready to help, and the breakfast was delicious. We had a cozy, practical room with a really big terrace. Everything was just right, and the B&B is in a quiet spot only a few kilometers from the wonderful Salento sea.
