Palazzo San Giovanni

A car is necessary for the beach, since there's no public transport at all, though active guests could use bikes. The Ionian shore is about 3 km away, and the Adriatic is easy to reach too, so this B&B makes a very good base for exploring both. We found the room comfortable and clean, the value excellent, and Paola kind, helpful, and always ready with advice or to handle a request. Antonietta served a great breakfast, and there's a terrace for sunset, perhaps with an aperitivo.

We spent five nights at Palazzo San Giovanni and had a lovely time. Paola was friendly and kind, always happy to point us in the right direction or suggest places to go. We drove around Salento each day to see as much as we could, and the location worked really well for our plans. Etta served us a delicious breakfast. We'd come back if we travel to Salento again.

The rooms stay cool, and there's a nice terrace to sit on in the evening. Breakfast was varied and very good, mostly made with fresh local ingredients. It's also a handy spot for exploring Salento, with beautiful free beaches nearby and plenty of activities and cultural places to visit. Paola, the owner, is glad to offer suggestions. We'll be back, highly recommended.

Paola made us feel looked after and at home, welcoming us with real courtesy and suggesting great restaurants, beaches, and towns. When we came back, she'd greet us with a cool drink and traditional taralli. The property has a typical Salento feel, is beautifully furnished and spotless, and there was a lovely scent as soon as we walked in. The hospitality and service were well above average. I highly recommend it, and we'll be back soon.
