The climb and descent had hardly any wind, but it was very windy at Lake Arpy. The scenery is beautiful on the hike up to 2060 meters, and the lake is lovely. Bring warm clothes for the top.

The valley opens onto the beautifully colored Lake Arpy at 2066 meters above sea level. To get there, follow the trail past meadows and huts, then through the woods and up the path for views of magnificent Mont Blanc. Lake Arpy is well worth the visit.

In the warmer months, there are lots of pleasant walks, and you can make it to the old Arpy mine. In winter, it's a nice place for cross-country skiing.
