We’ve stayed in places at this price and gotten better value. This is okay for a single night, but it didn’t feel worth the cost, especially with no breakfast included for us. The host is a lovely gentleman, and there’s a small, pretty garden. The location is out of the way, though restaurants are a 15-minute walk. The shower was great, with body scrub provided, and there’s a small basin and detergent for handwashing, plus a heated towel rail and a drying rack you can put in the sun. The basics need investment. The bed, pillows, and mattress all felt very worn, and the towels were particularly old and rough.

Leaving that wonderfully comfortable bed in the morning was the hardest part. We stopped here on April 26, 2022, while cycling the Via Francigena toward Rome, and found a peaceful retreat overlooking a beautiful garden. The owner and his wife welcomed us warmly, and our bikes were safely stored in the locked garage.
