Agriturismo Il Montale

The owners are very kind, and breakfast and lunch were good. This lovely B&B sits in the Lunigiana hills, just a few kilometers from Pontremoli. Wild boars detract from the setting a bit, though children can have fun playing with and feeding the goats and donkeys.

What made our stay at Il Montale in Mulazzo especially enjoyable was Alessandra. She was always smiling, warm, and ready with useful advice or help, and her family’s kindness added to the welcome. The setting is splendid, up in the mountains with an incredible view of the Carrara marble mountains. We loved swimming in the natural pool, which felt like a lake surrounded by nature. The accommodation was comfortable and authentic, just as described. It’s peaceful despite being close to the highway, and well placed for exploring the region. The Cinque Terre and the impressive Carrara mountains are both 45 minutes away. Nearby, there are also medieval villages with beautiful castles, waterfalls, and natural pools, as well as some excellent traditional restaurants. We highly recommend it for discovering Tuscany and Lunigiana in a wonderful setting with exceptional hospitality.

Alessandra was wonderful, friendly, and ready to help with anything. She made us feel at home from the moment we arrived. The place itself feels like a fairytale, carefully looked after down to the smallest detail and surrounded by peace and quiet. Our stay was simply perfect, and we highly recommend visiting her. It’s an unforgettable experience we’ll always treasure!

Alessandra is a kind and helpful host. The farmhouse is beautiful, with a lake, very clean rooms, and fantastic animals that never bother you. It’s a lovely green place to relax, and I highly recommend it.
