Hotel Appartement Lahngut

The hosts were kind and very friendly. They brought us extra dishes when we asked, along with spare sheets and blankets. They also gave us excellent tips for buying good wine. The location is fantastic.

We’re a married couple in our 60s, and comfort or luxury isn’t what we come for. What matters to us is warmth, hospitality, and feeling welcome, and that’s exactly what we find here. It helps us unwind from everyday stress. The rooms are simple, spotless, and cleaned daily. Towels are changed every other day without asking, and the chambermaid is very kind and quietly hardworking. Breakfast has plenty for everyone, even if you don’t want anything fancy. The area is lovely for cycling and hiking, and nearby attractions are easy to reach by public transport. The local restaurants were all welcoming and gave us excellent service. Pension Lahngut/Nals, we’d love to come back! 🤩👋☺️

At check-in, the price already seemed to be made up on the spot. I asked what one night would cost, and the owner said €80, but her son immediately stepped in and said to charge more, quoting €120 with breakfast. The next morning, when we were leaving and went to pay, they asked for €130 instead. I reminded them we’d agreed on €120, and they muttered something in a strong dialect. We’d still recommend the accommodation for a short stay, but suggest paying the agreed amount as soon as you arrive to avoid a different price being demanded later.

We had to find somewhere to stay on the spot during our bike tour. First we were quoted a low price, but it quickly went up once they realized where we were. At checkout, they asked for even more than the amount we’d agreed on. If negative stars were possible for the service, I’d give them.
