Checking out was awful. A curtain had come off its track when we opened the window, and we showed it to the landlord while immediately offering to cover any damage. Then his wife and he started shouting at me very aggressively in German, which I don’t speak. They went through the apartment as though searching for evidence of damage we supposedly caused, and charged me another 100 euros for what they called damages. I don’t like being treated like a criminal on a vacation I paid well for. If you feel the same, stay away.

A cosy, pleasant spot, simple but clean and, above all, inexpensive. Lovely garden and pool, plus a delicious breakfast.

The apartments are lovely, tastefully furnished, and very clean. The owners are friendly and helpful, and the price is quite reasonable. The location between Bolzano and Merano worked perfectly for day trips and bike rides. I’d gladly stay again.

The outdoor pool is fantastic and fairly large, with plenty of loungers, and the garden and lawn are well kept. There’s also a barbecue spot with a gas grill and seating. Restaurants are just around the corner, among them a pizzeria and the Stachelburg venue. You can walk to a bakery, Spar supermarket, bank, and ice cream parlor. We stayed 13 nights in the second-floor Schönegg apartment. The booking online was effortless, and Mr. and Mrs. Rauch warmly welcomed us on arrival and showed us around. It was bright, tidy, well equipped, and roomy for two, with two balconies. The one at the back had a magical view of Merano. We brought our own cooking gear, though the kitchen was functional and equipped well enough to make cooking enjoyable. There were two TVs, but we never turned them on during our 14-day stay, so I can’t say how good the reception was. There’s plenty of car parking, and racks for bikes and e-bikes. Our bikes were kept in a lockable garage where they could also be charged. A very pleasant place with genuinely warm and friendly hosts. Thank you, Sieglinde and Luis! We’ll be back.

“A holiday with friends” really fits our 11 days at Residence Reinhild with the Rauch family. We stayed in the spacious Schwarzhorn apartment in Nalles, the beautiful rose village, and everything was just right. We’d love to return. Five stars for the Rauch family! 🌟
