B&B Madison

We had a quiet stay, and our balcony looked out over Pz.Garibaldi and Vesuvius. Sunrise from there was beautiful. The room and apartment were clean, nicely decorated and smelled fresh. The building dates from the 19th century and has good security. The Wi-Fi, fridge, TV, kettle and air conditioning all worked well. There was also a coffee machine in the hall, and the bathroom had a hair dryer and mirrors. They changed our linens after three nights, and the place was spotless. The owner met us around 7 pm, as we’d arranged beforehand for Sept 2024, and carefully explained how to open the building and apartment doors. We walked about five minutes to Napoli C-le train station and the airport bus. You need to tell the host your arrival time ahead of time through the booking agent. Breakfast was a chocolate croissant and cappuccino at the cafe next door, and both were very good. You could buy extra pastries too. Thank you Giuseppe!

The station is right nearby, which is a great location. But the neighbourhood felt really rough, and two days was enough for us. The room was quite old, some furniture was broken, and the tiles didn’t seem clean enough for us to shower barefoot.

We booked this place online without realizing it wasn’t a good fit for a family, especially with kids. It’s an old four-storey building, with the hotel only on the third floor. I’d say it suits solo backpackers who just need somewhere to leave their bags, take a possibly clean shower, and sleep. Families visiting Naples should avoid staying here.

The room was spotless and the bed was good, but I didn’t feel safe in that terrible neighbourhood. This might work for a night before an early flight. Once you get through the door, it feels like you’ve stepped onto another planet.
