Casa Azzurra

The location works well if you want to be in the historic center, but the room itself was a disappointment. It’s below street level, with cars and scooters going through the alley at all hours, and there’s no real soundproofing. People honk constantly in Naples. Light from the street and back yard shines straight onto the sofa bed, and there are no shades on the windows or French doors except in the kitchen area, where they aren’t needed. The ceiling is so low that walking from the bathroom to the bed feels dangerous if you’re over 1.70 meters tall. The photos are VERY misleading. The place has potential, but it’s badly maintained and extremely damp. You notice the humidity as soon as you walk in. There’s a dehumidifier, but it can’t keep up. Mold is visible in several spots, and plaster is peeling from the walls and ceiling, landing on you, the towels, and the bathroom fixtures. The bed is a sofa bed, as stated, but it’s uncomfortable, with a thin mattress over metal bars that dig into your hips if you sleep on your side. The mattress also appears to be full of mold. There aren’t many dishes, some are dirty and others permanently stained. One coffee cup had hardened sugar in it, and there was nothing else. The photos show complimentary bathroom items, tea bags, and breakfast croissants, but none of those were actually there. Water leaks through the shower glass and quickly floods the bathroom. The bidet shifts around, and the towel rack comes loose. No one was there when we arrived, even though I’d given our arrival time. I called and the owner answered sounding a bit annoyed. Her WA profile does say "Don't stress me". A very kind and helpful lady came shortly afterward and showed us the room.
