Casa Hosteno

Barbara was a fantastic host, ready to answer questions and point us in the right direction. The location was great, and the rooms were very clean each day and had all the basics. Enjoy!

Napoli was right outside the door, with lively alleys, good restaurants, shops, and plenty of people to watch, but the hotel itself stayed quiet. Inside, the place felt like a museum, with the beauty of the old residence all around. My room had a bed in a loft above the main living area and was great. Barbara was a gem when I realized, three hours away near Florence, that I’d left my passport in the room safe. I messaged her and she found it and kept it secure. A few days later, when we arranged to return, she gave us directions to meet her outside the city center so we could avoid traffic and the ZTL.

Villa Bianca was a great stay. Our room was very spacious, with good amenities, and Barbara was always reachable by text if we needed anything. She also marked personal suggestions for food and sights on a map. The hotel is in a beautiful old building with a distinctive lobby. Its spot in the historic center worked really well for restaurants, and the taxi stand is right across the street. We could walk to the port in about 15 minutes. I’d highly recommend Casa Hosteno and would return if I come back to Naples.

Our room for my wife, my parents, and me felt more like a small apartment, with plenty of space, a kitchenette, and two separate bathrooms. It was clean and well kept. The sleeping areas were on different levels but had no walls or doors between them, so that setup might not give everyone enough privacy. Napoli can be a bit of a culture shock at first, with its busy streets and general layout, but the location made it easy to get immersed while keeping everything we wanted to see within a 15-25 minute walk. We felt safe and welcomed everywhere. The city stays lively into the early morning, which can mean some noise, though I think that’s part of the fun. The hosts were friendly, quick to reply by text, and had useful local food recommendations. Finding the hotel on arrival took me a while. Google Maps led us to the alley, but I wasn’t convinced and walked past several times. Look up high for the hotel sign, behind the big steel security door. We couldn’t check in until around 10, but there were plenty of nearby places to sit and have coffee while we waited. We really enjoyed our stay and recommend it.
