Hotel Casablanca

The room was cramped and missing basic things I expected, like tea or coffee sachets. The water pressure was so low that showering was frustrating. I also found the bedding dirty, and the bed itself was extremely uncomfortable, so getting proper rest was difficult. On top of that, guests are charged extra to use the lift, which felt unfair given how poor the stay was. Hotel Casablanca didn’t meet basic expectations for cleanliness, comfort, or service. I wouldn’t recommend it.

My room was in a separate building, and the stairs there felt like they were falling apart. You also had to pay to use the elevator. Though renovated, the room only had a bed, table, and stools for bedside tables, and the wall outlets didn’t work. The bed felt like cardboard, and we had to run the shower for more than six minutes before warm water came through. It took four different remotes and a visit from the maintenance man to get the AC fixed. At the front desk, they didn’t speak English and tried to take our keys when we were going on an excursion. My husband argued, and only then did they give them back. This place was awful. I’d never recommend it. They’re scamming people and companies that book with them, and the hostels were nicer, even though this is rated three stars.

The room was warm and comfortable, and having reception open 24 hours was really convenient compared with hotels that close around 10 pm or earlier. Breakfast was good, and the barman was extremely polite and helpful to everyone. But the staff were very loud, talking to each other and on the phone, and the cleaning noise started at 8:30 in the morning, so I couldn’t sleep. Housekeeping kept passing close by while I ate and bothering me, which made breakfast uncomfortable. They were noisy and impolite, and didn’t speak English. At 10:27, a housekeeper knocked and told me to check out, although the website says checkout is at 11.

After a hotel around the corner cancelled on us late, we booked this place through booking.com and arrived late. First thing in the morning, while we were still in bed, someone banged on the door. I opened it and the owner immediately started intimidating me aggressively, yelling for five minutes, pushing the door open, and spitting on me while claiming we’d stayed without paying. We hadn’t been asked to pay at check-in, and then he realized the booking hadn’t automatically withdrawn the money. Once we paid, his attitude changed and he thanked us, then offered free breakfast. At check-in, the man at the desk had already told us breakfast was included. Probably the worst hotel experience I’ve ever had.
