Conte Cavour

The area didn’t feel safe to me. People tried to slip into the building as we entered, and there were lots of drunk people around. The location itself isn’t bad, but that made the stay uncomfortable. The staff were rude and unreliable. They arrived late for breakfast and wouldn’t keep our bags after noon. The Wi-Fi was slow and the signal was poor. Breakfast was disgusting. The juice wasn’t stirred, so the concentrate sat at the bottom with water on top. Sometimes the croissants were from the previous day, and there was nothing savoury to go with them, not even ham or cheese. The rooms and bathrooms are old, with mould on the shower joints, a musty smell, and a loose toilet seat. They made the beds daily but didn’t vacuum; under the bed looked as if it hadn’t been cleaned for weeks. I stayed five nights and have very little positive to say. There are plenty of B&Bs with nicer staff, better breakfast, and cleaner rooms. Avoid this one.

The streets and square around the building can be dirty and chaotic, even though the location is very central and close to the metro. The staff were friendly, and the rooms were clean and comfortable.

The rooms are decent and come with AC and a TV. Breakfast, though, was the same every day for all five days: croissants, tea, coffee, and honey.

A really convenient spot, and the staff were lovely. The room was nice and very clean. It’s a shame the piazza itself is full of rubbish.
