B&B Del Corso

Right in the middle of manic Napoli, this place is always a quiet oasis. The rooms are nice and roomier than you'd get in most hotel chains, with reasonable prices. The owner, la Signora Patrizia, is always gracious and welcoming. Well recommended.

The proprietor was really, really friendly, and my kids loved the warm croissants in the morning. The room was bigger than most European rooms, which was nice. But the towels looked old and mismatched, the shower door was broken, and the shower's steam and side-jet feature didn't work. There was no flat sheet, just a comforter, which felt gross to me. The large bed sagged in the middle too. Getting there was a rough walk from the train station, about 10 minutes with a roller bag over Naples' uneven, textured, very dirty streets. The entrance looked like an abandoned warehouse, and the surrounding area felt shady and dirty, beyond ordinary city grit. You also have to pay to use the tiny elevator or carry bags up two flights of stairs. We weren't impressed and wouldn't stay again.

The room had good air conditioning and free water, and its spot near the train station, restaurants, and places to visit worked really well. Karolina was extremely responsive and helpful. She explained check-in clearly and gave us excellent suggestions for sites and restaurants. With only a few hours' notice, she also helped move our checkout several hours earlier than planned and held our luggage for most of an extra day. Maybe my best lodging experience ever!

Fresh, home-baked croissants for breakfast! We've stayed in more than 20 places around Europe over the past few months, and this was our best stay ever. Service was great, the rooms were clean, and the location was great for the station and sights. They also advised us on where to go, and we got discounts using the B&B name.
