Hostel Mancini Naples

We stayed two nights in a double room with a shared bathroom. The manager let us have coffee from breakfast when we arrived early, which was kind. Our room was decent, though it only had hangers and a small table. The building is in Naples’ gentrified, modern city centre, but the location still wasn’t great: it’s a walk to Napoli centrale, with the metro and plenty of buses nearby, and in summer the very dirty area turns into a market during the day. A lot of small issues made the stay uncomfortable. The shared facilities amounted to one toilet and one shower with a toilet, cleaned just once a day. The sinks had neither hand soap nor anything to dry your hands with. The floor was slippery, and the only absorbent mat was so small and stinky it was unusable. During cleaning, the cleaner wouldn’t let us use the bathroom and gave us strange looks and was rude when I tried to brush my teeth, even though we weren’t officially required to leave our double room. Blocking access to the only toilets assigned to guests is completely unacceptable. The AC kept switching itself to low power regardless of the room temperature. It worked well when on, but was hard to keep going all night. Rental towels were thin and low quality, barely enough for tall people, let alone anyone with long hair. The curtains also failed to block the outside light at night, which was extremely disappointing.

The owner and receptionists were kind, and I haven’t run into any other problems so far. It’s been a good hostel overall. I’d just like the kitchen to open a little earlier than 2.30 PM.

The staff made us feel so welcome, especially the woman looking after breakfast, who was an absolute sweetheart. Breakfast was excellent, the room was comfortable and had a nice bathroom, and the building felt secure with convenient access at any hour. We spent two nights here, and it really made our Naples trip. The hostel sits perfectly between the train station and the city centre. Highly recommended!

I’m completely in love with the staff, they’re all amazing. The place has a kind of magic to it, and it’s clean, with a great breakfast and a spot close to the station. Do yourself a favor and stay here while visiting the amazing Napoli. 10/10.
