Hotel Casanova

The receptionists were lovely and really helpful, with good suggestions for food and travel. The hotel is well placed for getting around, though the area can seem a bit sketchy. We never felt unsafe, and the rooms were good for the price.

A good location and helpful staff. This is a budget hotel with basic amenities, which is what the price covers. They let us leave our luggage in storage for a couple of days while we were away. Don’t expect much and you’ll be happy.

We’d booked months ahead, but on check-in day the hotel cancelled our reservation and made it look in the system as though we had cancelled. They gave no explanation and didn’t answer our calls. We had to spend part of our vacation finding another hotel at a higher last-minute price.

The host was lovely and patient with us as non-native speakers, and he was helpful every time we spoke. In an expensive city like Naples, this is good value if all you need is a bed. The room was basic, with a bed, closets, and an ensuite. It was comfortable enough, but there were no refreshments or hairdryer. Getting to the hotel means using an alleyway or backstreet, where people lingering around made me uneasy. There was a constant cigarette smell coming into the room from people smoking in the building. Also, the cleaner threw away my two takeaway pizzas that I’d left on the windowsill. Good value, but don’t expect much.
