Hotel Crisari

I paid for a room that looked clean and ready to use online, but the place I arrived at felt unfinished and unsafe. There were wires sticking out of the wall, the sheets were dirty and had hair from previous guests, and there were no towels or toilet paper. The desk shown as part of the room hadn’t been set up either, just furniture pieces left in a corner as if renovation had stopped halfway through. The bare, harsh white walls made the whole place feel like a hospital wing, or even a cell. The app photos had made it look warm and furnished, so walking into what seemed like a different building left me furious. Easily the worst place to stay in Naples.

We only needed a place near the station since we were leaving early the next morning, so it served that purpose, though it’s in a pretty dodgy part of Naples. The room was clean, but the mattress seemed ancient, the bathroom tap was loose, and the shower tap kept falling off. The entrance was run-down, with broken steps and a railing that didn’t seem safe for children. For the price, I think we could’ve found somewhere better.

The manager came within a minute when we called about the front door, which was difficult to unlock, and was friendly and helpful. The hotel is close to the station, though the neighbourhood was very dirty and felt unsafe. The price was fair, but the mattress was in very bad shape. The bathroom and balcony were both tiny, and the small bathroom could be hard to fit into for a larger person. The air conditioning worked.

I was left waiting because there wasn’t even a reception. Then the woman tried to put me in a room that clearly wasn’t clean: it smelled, the towels were dirty on top of a used, untidy bed, and she kept insisting it was clean. The neighbourhood felt really dangerous too. The most disgusting hotel I’ve ever seen. Run away! I couldn’t leave a bad review on Booking because I had to cancel.
