Hotel Eliseo Napoli

They gave us a lower-category room than the one I booked. I chose that room because the fridge, table, and wardrobe shown in the listing were essential for me and my child, as well as the four adults in our group. Our room had none of those items. It also had no view, just three walls around the window, so it wasn't the room I had reserved. When we arrived, the hotel promised to move us into the booked room, but that evening they refused and said another guest was occupying it. How could that happen?

We paid €588 for five nights, or €117 per night, and for that price I'd rather book an Airbnb or another hotel, even if it costs a bit more. The floor was filthy, with hair and dirt everywhere, and there was even a used water bottle behind the cupboard. I asked the receptionist for a vacuum so I could clean it myself, but he said he didn't have one. The mini fridge didn't work either, and they don't provide the air conditioning remote unless you ask. The pillowcase had two tiny holes.

For what we paid, this was surprisingly nice and cheap. The bathroom was clean and spacious, the WiFi was fast, and we had a street-facing balcony. The room itself wasn't very big, and one of our plugs didn't work. We couldn't figure out the air conditioning, so we gave up trying to use it.

I booked three days, but for the first two I was put in a room I hadn't reserved. I only got my booked room on the third day. The fridge didn't work, and birds made strange loud sounds early in the morning. You have to ask at the entrance for the TV and AC remotes, then make sure to return them.
