Il Giglio Rosso

Really awesome!

My wife and I used to make the trip to Somma Vesuviana for its food, especially the cod. Years ago, I even took two friends along, and after trying the dishes they’d call every December to February asking, “Let’s go to Somma.” Then, two years ago, to please my wife, I agreed to have lunch at IL GIGLIO ROSSO, just a stone’s throw from our home. As they say, sometimes we don’t notice what’s right in front of us. The staff were extremely courteous, the food delicious, and the cod was cooked by a great chef. After our third visit, when those friends asked us to head to Somma Vesuviana again, my wife and I brought them to Giglio Rosso instead. They agreed there was no need to travel so far when GOODNESS IS WITHIN OUR REACH. The appetizers and first and second courses were all excellent, and the desserts superb. I’d like to find the words for the impeccable service and the owners’ friendliness, but I’ll stop here so I don’t sound flattering. Adriano Marullo

The apartment is nice and conveniently located, but the sofa bed was really unsuitable. We had horrible nights.
