There was no one at the downstairs front desk when we arrived, and we got in only because a pizza delivery person let us through on the way out. Someone in the courtyard said the room was on the fifth floor, but the doors there were locked. I called the number on the door. They said they had tried to call me earlier, though I had no missed calls, emails, or texts. They let us in remotely and said someone would come help within 15 minutes. The staff member who arrived was very helpful. We heard him enter the hall, so my husband and I went out to ask a few basic questions. That night we found black mold around the bathroom window in room 8 at the Napoli Duomo location. I tried to email the hotel organization, but the message bounced back. Otherwise I wouldn’t be writing this. We stayed only one night before flying home, but the mold irritated my asthma and made me sick. I’m home now and taking medication. It’s a shame, since the rest of our trip in Italy was wonderful. I hope they deal with the mold before someone else has this experience. The friendly staff member called a taxi for the morning, but it never came, so we crossed the street to the taxi stand and got a ride to the airport. No one explained checkout, so I left the key on the desk and hope that was okay. I wouldn’t stay here again.
