The big duplex room had plenty of beds and was clean, but that was about it. Wifi only worked in the shared kitchen outside the door, and the cellular connection was poor too. In the main room, the TV controller had no batteries, the air conditioner was old and too small, and one bedside lamp didn’t work. There was no kettle or microwave in the common kitchen. The toilet barely flushed, there was hardly any hand soap, and the door wouldn’t close. Breakfast was one croissant, coffee, and juice, with no omelet. There was only one key for the whole family. One night it stopped working, and we had to call the neighbors to let us in because nobody answered our calls.

The location is handy for pizzerias, restaurants, the sea, and the shopping street. The room is very large, the beds are okay, and the staff are fair. There’s no elevator, and the small air conditioner isn’t enough for a room that size. The area is so noisy you can’t sleep after 8:00. Wifi is shared by four apartments, and the range and speed were so poor that we could barely use it. It’s not suitable for working on a laptop. The toilet may be fixed in the future. Breakfast is coffee and a croissant from two streets away.

They advertise “low” prices and then find other ways to take more money from you. They don’t give receipts or accept cards. The rooms are outdated, and the bathroom has a tiny, broken shower. The food is prepackaged. The cleaning staff and waiters were pretty unsettling and seemed not to understand anything, or more likely were pretending not to. They make you wait ages for food and then don’t bring it, apparently to save money. They even counted a small backpack as a suitcase and charged for it.

The host was helpful, and the place is attractive and fairly central, on the main road. It’s about a 25-minute walk from Via Toledo. I’d still give it a 7 for the location, the look of the place, and the host’s help. Cleanliness was the one small issue: hair everywhere, dusty furniture, and a bathroom that had been cleaned carelessly. Nothing major, but paying more attention to those details would make it a really lovely, welcoming place.
