There was no reception, and I couldn’t get into the place.

I booked through Booking.com and tried several times to contact the hotel to ask whether there were stairs, but I never got through. The number listed online was wrong, and they didn’t correct it. There was a single step in the room that I didn’t see, and I fell badly, especially hurting my knees. Then there was the price. Booking.com showed €50, but on arrival they asked me for €57 without a receipt, saying it was tourist tax. That tax is at most €3 since this isn’t a luxury hotel, so who got the other €4? Booking.com, which took the commission I paid, since I should have paid €50, or the hotel? I’m adding photos to show where I ended up. There was no refrigerator in the room. Maybe I shouldn’t have had very cold water. The wall was damaged, the window frames were dilapidated, and the toilet seat was almost finished, as was the crusty toilet bowl. There was also a smell I couldn’t place, probably from the bathroom. The one positive was that I only had to stay one night, and I tried to put up with it. But this is the second time Booking.com has played this trick on me, so I no longer trust them. I definitely won’t return to this property.

A real Neapolitan scam. When I arrived, they sent me to another B&B that looked more like a brothel. The sheets were dirty, the pillows had brown caked-on stains I can’t even describe, the bathroom door wouldn’t shut, the air conditioning blew hot air, and the bathroom was pitiful. The woman running the place told us, literally, to go fuck ourselves if we didn’t like it. Disgraceful. I had to book a local hotel right away and pay twice for the stay. We’ll sort it out through the agency, of course. Neapolitans never disappoint.

I was welcomed kindly and courteously when I arrived at the station at 12:30. The rooms were new and clean. An excellent B&B.
