Talismano Luxury B&B

The two women who own this B&B were the best part of our stay. They made sure we knew the neighborhood, how to use public transport, and how to find the place. It's near a good area for shopping, food, and Naples' historical sights, and the staff did their best to help us plan each day and get around. Our room was far smaller than it looked online and had a horrible musty, moldy smell. We nearly left as soon as we walked in, but had nowhere else to stay. The ceiling was striking, apparently original from the 14th(?) century, but there wasn't much else in the way of decor. Mold covered the shower walls, and a disgusting wooden panel sat over an even worse tiled floor. We think that may have added to the smell. The pipes also banged loudly every time we used the shower, sink, or toilet. We paid extra for a room with a balcony, but it was really just a small step outside, not an actual balcony. The breakfast advertised online as amazing was a few stale cereal choices, plus cheese and cold cuts. We only found out by reading other reviews that the chef could make eggs fresh. If it weren't for the two owners, I'd have given the place one star.

The room, bathroom, and breakfast area were all nice. But the food at breakfast had mold on it, and our towels weren't changed during the stay. Both cleaning ladies were extremely rude and irritating. The other staff were really nice, though.

I only saw one of the B&B's two rooms, so I can speak only about that one. Its wooden ceiling had visible green mold and looked nasty and unsafe. I got really sick during the night and had to leave the next day after a severe allergy attack. When I told the owner about the mold, she got angry and denied it was there. The place looks very appealing online and in its marketing, but what I saw was very different. That room isn't fit to stay in, and the ceiling needs fixing before it's rented to guests. There are pictures of it on the TripAdvisor page.

AWFUL, don't book this place! There were far too many lies. The room was dusty, there were no toiletries, no food was allowed in the room, towels weren't changed over three days, and there was no reception. The area felt VERY, VERY, VERY dangerous. I wouldn't stay out after 8 or 9 PM. There were lots of seedy late-night activities outside after 1 AM, and I feared thieves and saw lots of drug taking about 1.5 metres from the entrance.
