Viaggio a Napoli B&B

We stayed for two nights and unfortunately had a nightmare with the neighbors. It was a family with a baby who screamed and ran around much of the time they were in their room. The staff tried their best to deal with it, but sometimes you get neighbors who don’t know how to share a common space.

We used this room as a base before our planned tours of Pompeii and Vesuvius, and weren’t quite sure what to expect from Naples. The staff were welcoming and offered lots of suggestions for food and attractions. The room was okay, with a good bathroom and a shower that worked fine. Breakfast was basic but enough to satisfy us: plain cornetti, cereal, yogurt, juice, cold cuts, tea, and coffee. The biggest issue was fitting four of us in. They gave us what was essentially a double room, moved the bed aside, and added two single beds. That was workable, but not what we expected. If you’re bringing four people from teens to adults and don’t want to feel cramped, you’ll need two rooms. The air conditioning also struggled in the intense Italian heat, and seemed to have a limit on how low we could set it. It’s not far from the station, which is convenient, though here that means being in a gritty, run-down part of the city. If city life, with its good and bad sides, isn’t for you, you may prefer somewhere else. For a short stay, if you’re adventurous and the price suits you, it’s fine.

The service and location were both on point. The beds were good, and I liked the breakfast cappuccino. But the uninsulated windows let in a lot of noise, and the AC unit was really loud. I found it hard to sleep without headphones.

We were stranded without access when we arrived, because late check-ins weren’t allowed and nobody had told us beforehand. When we called for help, they hung up on us and offered no assistance or solutions. They then charged us for two full days, even though we never stayed a single night. We had to scramble to find another place, which added unexpected costs to our trip. They provide no customer support and made us feel they only cared about taking our money. A terrible experience, and I’d tell people to avoid this hotel.
