The room was roomy and comfortable for the night, and waking up to the view of Monouso was breathtaking. Breakfast had a great choice and good quality. Dinner was lovely too: the carpaccio with Gorgonzola cream and hazelnuts was superb, and the ravioli, bollito, and desserts were good. One thing to watch is the drive in. If Google sends you down a dirt track through the vineyards, turn around and get back to the paved road. There are directions on a white sign, so follow those and stay on the asphalt.

We had a front table and got to enjoy the view and a sunset after the rain. The host was very welcoming and keen to talk us through his wines, which went nicely with a delicious Piedmontese meal made with local produce and traditional dishes. The five courses, wine, dessert, and a choice of liqueurs came to €30 per person, really good value. We slept in our VW Bulli, so I can't comment on the rooms, but I'd definitely recommend the restaurant.

The family are up working from early morning until late at night, both in the fields and at the restaurant, and they still greet you with a smile. The father recommends their wines and special homemade liqueur and grappa, the daughter handles much of the welcome and service at the restaurant and hotel, and the mother served us breakfast. I was impressed by how they manage so many jobs themselves, especially since they also grow wine and seem to work 20 hours a day. The stay and food are good value, and it seems a nice place for families and caravans. It's cozy, has lovely hill views, and there are sweet cats too :)

We paid €50, including two lovely glasses of house wine, and that felt more than fair. The food was a highlight: vitello tonnato, beef carpaccio with Piemonte hazelnuts and Gorgonzola, homemade potato gnocchi with just the right texture, and a shared beef escalope with mustard grappa sauce. Dessert was a little too sweet for us, though still excellent. The terrace view is gorgeous, and the hosts, who seemed to run the family winery and restaurant, were so welcoming. We arrived very late, but they set us a table on the main terrace because we preferred it to the covered area. As it was late and lockdown was approaching, they let us sleep in our small camperbus in the parking lot. We came back for morning coffee on the terrace, where soy milk was available. We'd love to return, maybe for a few nights next time.

The food and wine were among the best we had on our travels, and everyone here was so kind that we felt at home straight away. We had an unforgettable stay and can't wait to come back.
