Locanda Borgo Vecchio

Our friends who stayed said one of our rooms seemed to be booked again for one night, and the other for two. I thought a partial refund for those nights would be fair. I never asked for the full amount back, but the hotel repeatedly refused even a partial refund, and now I don't want to reschedule our vacation or give it another chance. I had booked four rooms for six people. On arrival in Milan, my mother-in-law fell at the airport and badly broke her arm, so three of us in two rooms had to return to the U.S. for her surgery. That first day the hotel pressed me hard for full payment. I paid the full stay by credit card, and they said they'd try to reopen the rooms for other guests. I assumed that if they managed to rebook them, honest and reasonable hotel owners would refund some of the cost for those nights. Instead, they collected money from other guests as well as my payment. They profited from my mother-in-law's broken arm and our forced cancellation, making more than they would have if we'd stayed.

Neive is a quiet little gem in Piemonte. Borgo Vecchio is a great place to stay and take in the atmosphere, in a magnificent location.

Five months later, we booked through an agency and the stay turned out fantastic, perfect even. Five stars! Before that, I tried emailing the hotel and restaurant four times, and also reached out on Instagram, but got no response.

We only went to the restaurant, but from what we could see, the hotel looked cute too.
