Emanuela & Aurelio gave us such a warm welcome, and the hosts were incredibly kind and helpful throughout. The residence is beautifully decorated, with thoughtful touches like a basket of local food and fresh daffodils on the kitchen table. The terraces look out over peaceful, lovely views of Lago di Como, in Nesso. Having your own transport is a good idea. The c30 bus stops at the bottom of a steep hill, followed by a steady 10-15 minute uphill walk. I’d definitely recommend the place.

The house was clean, spacious, and had everything we needed, with a beautiful view of Lake Como. It’s in the quiet little town of Nesso, and the drive to the house is a bit challenging, but worth it. Emanuela was friendly and helpful. We had a great stay at Dea House.

I chose not to stay at this "casa vacanze" after reading the manager's remarks about French guests. She said that French visitors expect to be spoken to in French, that English isn't enough, and that in her view they should stay at home. She also said she was glad she hadn't had French guests that year, and that some leave negative reviews when the listings make clear that French isn't spoken. When I told her those were prejudices, she replied that she was glad I wasn't a client. She insisted it wasn't prejudice, but a fact based on years of managing a rural guesthouse and her experience as a host in France. I found her comments chilling, and I had good reason not to stay. If the manager disputes my account, I have screenshots of the exchange, translated here from Italian. I'll attach it as a JPG with names blurred, showing only her initials, E.M. French-speaking friends, don't waste your time with these ungrateful business owners. Look elsewhere!
