Astura Palace Hotel

After five days in Rome, Nettuno felt like a welcome change of scenery. It's a great little town and very easy to reach by train from Rome. The hotel is very nice for what we paid. It may be a little dated, but honestly that adds to its charm. Everything is within walking distance, which is handy since there seem to be no taxis in Nettuno. The breakfast was perfect, better than the usual free hotel breakfast, despite what some people say. This place reminds me of an older kind of hospitality, from before AirBnB. A free breakfast and 24-hour concierge can add a lot to a holiday. I'd highly recommend stopping here if you're travelling overseas to Rome.

The village has a lovely feel, with more locals than visitors. There was a festival on while we were there, with street music in the evening, and the restaurants were lovely. The local beach is great too, and worth paying for a spot to get nice clean sand. I was a little worried after reading such mixed reviews, but the hotel was clean and the staff were all really helpful. Breakfast was delicious, served on the fifth floor with beautiful views. There's also a rooftop bar, open only on weekends, so book a spot if you'd like to go. The one downside was the lack of information about local attractions and places to visit. Central Rome is only an hour by train, but some tips for local sights would have been good. I'd definitely consider coming back.

The location was exactly what we needed: Astura is almost on the beach, just a few steps from our room to the sea. The hotel is old style but clean, with very big rooms. The staff were helpful and breakfast was more than enough. I got what I expected, and even more. We'll definitely come back. By the way, the hotel promises the best price if you book direct.

Right on the waterfront opposite the marina and beach, the hotel is close to plenty of places to eat, the old town, the bus service, and the train station for Rome. The bed was great and comfortable, and the shower was lovely. There was a fridge in the room and plenty of wardrobe and drawer space. The staff were very friendly and helpful, and some speak good English. Breakfast is self-service continental, with lots of choices.
