Villa Aperta Campagna is a lovely, peaceful place, with beautiful surroundings and plenty to enjoy both nearby on foot or by car and across Sicily. It works well for a family break or as a base for exploring. You could also stay longer and laze in a hammock among the olive trees. The renovated house is comfortable and has a charming feel, with lots of places to relax, especially in summer. The host really cares about guests’ comfort. He was there when we arrived, showed us around, and explained the appliances and practical things like the washing machine and fuses in Italian, so you’ll need a translator if you don’t speak it. He also greeted us with delicious Sicilian cold cuts and cheeses. When we left, we were delighted to receive his wife’s homemade cookies and two fennel bulbs for a salad. Truly recommendable!
