Nice sea, and a good spot for families with kids.
A really awful place!!!!!!!!
I loved the calm, family-like feel of the village. Even with lots of people around, it still felt like there was a good mix of activity and time to relax. Evening walks to the sea were lovely, especially at sunset, and we could often see Stromboli. The setting is fantastic, just a few steps from the clear sea, with beautiful natural surroundings. The houses feel welcoming, and bougainvillea, oleander, and jasmine fill the village. It’s a peaceful, welcoming place that’s very family-friendly, with sea, nature, and good food all together.
I went in the last week of June, unfortunately, and the season here only gets going in late July, so the place had a bit of a ghost-town feel. The residence is very quiet and close to the sea, and the cleanliness is excellent. Prices are amazing. There’s lots of greenery, plus amenities like bars, shops, a supermarket, and a bakery.
This residential complex dates back to the 1970s and seems to be in a state of anything-goes. People renovate however they like, including choosing the size of sheds and unauthorized spaces in gardens. The colors used in the renovations are something else too. The original window frames were brown, but now there’s a whole palette that might make van Gogh or someone pretending to be on a Greek island envious. Getting to the sea is unsafe because there’s no sidewalk or lighting, a problem caused by the municipality. Like many places in our region, seaside tourism is handled in a very approximate way. The old line some scholars used, “farmers temporarily loaned to the sea,” is about as close to the truth as it gets, with all due respect to farmers.
