Dimora Casanoja

We’ll be back. The suite was spacious, elegant, comfortable, and well equipped, with a balcony looking across the bay toward the lighthouse. The roof terrace was lovely too. Breakfast was exceptional, and the hosts were thoughtful, kind, and generous. The location was perfect, and the ancient building has been renovated beautifully.

I stayed with my mom in the cottage at the bottom of the property, and it was full of quiet signs of life. There were lizards everywhere, wild flowers and herbs growing all around, and huge cows in a nearby pasture. We’d spot horses grazing or resting in the shade, with their bells ringing each morning, though they were horses, not cows. One kind of white flower grew high on tall stems. In the dim light the stems seemed to vanish, so the flower heads looked like they were floating. The place is simply beautiful, but in a calm, quietly alive way.

We spent three relaxing days at sonora casanoja for our honeymoon, and we'd love to return. Carmine and Clara were the most hospitable hosts we've ever met. Carmine even showed us around his destillery and explained how wine, gin, and grappa are made. Our cabin was perfectly designed, with a huge garden around it. Fresh vegetables, herbs, pasta, and vino were waiting for us when we arrived. We usually headed up to the pool in the afternoons, where Carmine treated us to homemade drinks or tiramisu. The gardens around our trulli were full of fig and walnut trees, grape vines, herbs, and wild plants. The lavender garden smelled wonderful, and the pool had tucked-away places to relax, eat, or just enjoy the quiet. Guests could also help themselves to refreshments in a little trulli. Noci was a lovely town for dinner. We ate most evenings at Monte Grapa, where Angela looked after us so well, and the restaurant was amazing without being expensive. Carla and Carmine greeted us warmly after we drove down a beautiful winding road. They showed us their wine trulli and let us sample their splendid masala wine and walnut licqure. Our own trulli was spotless, bright, airy, and thoughtfully equipped, with a fridge stocked with cakes and breads. Our hosts also invited us to an unforgettable meal they cooked themselves. We'll certainly return and recommend Dimora Casanoja. Thank you for a wonderful experience.
