UNA HOTELS Regina Bari

We chose UNA HOTELS Regina Bari for our honeymoon and loved our stay. Francesca at reception deserves special mention: she was warm, helpful, and went out of her way to make us feel at home. All the staff were polite and smiling. The rooms have a medieval feel but come with all the amenities, and were freshly cleaned with clean towels each day. We also thought the pool was superb and the breakfast was great. They made our stay feel really special.

We stayed for three days with my husband, daughter, and brother-in-law because visiting the Bari war cemetery was the point of our trip. The hotel was lovely, with well-presented rooms and a smart, well-kept interior. Staff were polite, professional, and very pleasant. Since we speak almost no Italian, we appreciated that they spoke English very well. A shuttle took us to and from the station and the port area of torre a mare. Reception helped us find the right war cemetery and gave us ideas for other towns to visit. We went to beautiful monopoli and polignano a mare, as well as Bari town, which we also enjoyed. We ate in Bari torre a mare and had a great meal. Breakfast had loads of choices, but my two favorites were the hot croissants and, best of all, the pancake machine! A great hotel in the gem of Puglia.

Everything seemed OK until we got home and discovered that all our jewelry had been stolen. The door had been locked the whole time, and nobody had come into the room, so the only person who was there was the cleaning lady. In one suitcase, someone emptied the jewelry box and left it behind; in the other, they took the whole box with rings, necklaces, earrings, and a watch. The value isn't the point. Every item means something to my sisters and me, and we're truly disappointed that people like this exist. Hotel manager, please investigate who did this and how many people may have lost sentimental things, because those can mean more than you realize. Life goes on, but this is a hotel we'd never return to. Be safe and watch where you go 🙂

The restaurant is a nice place to eat and the food is good, though not top class. Some staff are friendly and welcoming, while others have a "jobs worth" attitude that makes it feel like customers are interrupting them. The grounds are lovely, with attractive buildings and a nice pool area, but the hotel itself feels a little tired and needs investment to meet modern five-star expectations. It has real potential, but it's falling short.
