The receptionists were great and tried to sort things out, though it wasn't their fault they couldn't fix them. That seems to come down to management. There was a damp problem, and the walls in the gym were covered in mould despite its brand new Technogym equipment. The hotel looks modern and nice, but it feels like it was left without maintenance or supervision. The shower was ridiculously small and had no door, so using it flooded the bathroom every time. The minibar didn't cool anything, and the room was just as warm. Air conditioning? Forget it. You had to choose between roasting in the room, as in the picture below, or losing sleep because of the noisy area. Breakfast came with no replacements. There's only one lift. It's a pity, because the place could be nice.

The main problem was the shower. It was unexpectedly small, had no door, and left so much water on the bathroom floor that we had to use clean towels to mop it up. That felt like a serious slip hazard, potentially even a litigation risk. Otherwise, the Radisson was a pleasant surprise after our generally disappointing European accommodations, where small beds and flat pillows were common. The bedding here was comfortable, with two pillows per person. We also had complimentary water, a kettle with coffee and tea, and enough bath amenities. The charming bar served food, too. We enjoyed our stay.

The area around the hotel felt gritty and a bit sketchy, but we had a great time at the pub next door. The bartender was so much fun to talk with about soccer, food and how Napoli's culture compares with the rest of Italy. We ended up here after our flight home was canceled. The hotel is very new and contemporary, and the staff were helpful. They arranged a transfer to Naples Airport for 3 am the next morning, and the driver arrived right on time. The desk attendant also gave us a great pizza lunch recommendation.

We were staying with my wife, but the room was set up for just one person. For a supposed “Premium” room, a step below a Junior Suite and two above “Standard”, the facilities were poor. I've had better at a Premier Inn. There was no coffee machine, the bathroom was cramped, the sink was squeezed against the entrance and shower screen, and the door wouldn't lock. The shower had no door, so water gushed across the whole bathroom floor, even though it wasn't a wet room. There went the day's supply of towels. The wallpaper was peeling, the computerised lights were stupid, and the emergency night lights lit up the whole room, making the blackout curtains pointless. Breakfast was farcically bad, with so many problems in the food and presentation that listing them would take an essay. The second day was worse. Then the gas pipes blew, leaving us without hot water. We had to ask why there was none. If we hadn't, we could have been stuck there for another day and an early morning without it. At 2200 hrs, they offered us another hotel and transport. We accepted and spent the last two nights at the Holiday Inn Vulcano Buono, which was superior in every way. The fridge was broken and the ironing board collapsed onto my toes, but both were replaced quickly and very politely. The team were polite, and none of this was their fault. They're let down by the infrastructure, and it feels like management has never stayed as a guest to see these problems firsthand. The damp issue and breakfast choices and availability were also a problem. The hotel falls well below normal pan-European Radisson standards, especially given that I'm paying the bill. If not for the reception staff, I'd have rated it 1 out of 5. That's a first for me after more than 6 years as a Rewards member. The Radisson Nola Naples was a big letdown, despite its very polite staff. Would I stay again? Never, and I'm a fan of the Radisson chain.

It was hard to check in by car because the front lot was usually full with restaurant customers. There are several restaurants within walking distance and a grocery store nearby. The location wasn't ideal for relaxing, though. Loud music from the adjoining restaurant carried on weekends until 11pm, and a party ran late on a Wednesday evening, with a singer from 11-11:30pm. Rooms near the front, around x01-x04ish, can probably hear the weekend music. The noise from the back could be heard throughout the building. The hotel itself was fairly nice, clean and well-maintained. My room was standard, cleaned and made up every day, with fresh towels daily and a fresh smell when I returned. Breakfast on the -1 floor had a good selection. The meeting rooms, restrooms and garage access were also downstairs. Staff were helpful with our various requests, and the main desk workers were approachable. Most seemed to enjoy working there. Still, my experience was less than good, despite the hotel itself being good.
