Baglio Genovesi

We spent two nights at B&B Baglio Genovesi in April. The property has beautiful views and a peaceful atmosphere, and our spacious, comfortable, well-designed room was a pleasure to return to after a day out. The staff were warm, attentive, and welcoming, and breakfast each morning had plenty of fresh choices. There aren't many places to eat nearby, so you'll need a car to go out for dinner. We also missed having an on-site bar for an evening aperitif, perhaps because we visited in the off-season. Still, it's a beautiful place with great service, and we'd gladly stay again.

A wonderful place to recharge halfway through a trip. We were a group of four and thoroughly enjoyed our stay in September 2025. The pool area was excellent, and Sante's service there was exceptional. From the breakfast room, full of delicious dishes, to the peace and quiet while looking out over Noto from the pool, it was all so relaxing.

The receptionist was very kind, but my experience left me feeling the property's management tries to charge guests at every opportunity. My mum was staying at the hotel while I was next door. I came to visit her and sat by the pool without using it, but a pool attendant told me to report to reception right away. They said I had to pay to use the pool, even after I explained I was only visiting my mum and sitting nearby. Being called to reception in front of the other pool guests made me very uncomfortable. I've never been to a hotel where visitors aren't allowed or have to notify reception just to visit someone. I also bought lunch at the pool and paid the full, very high price, even though they didn't have half the ingredients. It was advertised with tuna, but there was maybe a teaspoon of tuna, so it was mostly lettuce and a little cheese. They charge guests €3 for a pool towel, which seemed odd for a hotel rather than a fully serviced apartment. They didn't provide bottled water each day either, which I'd expect at a hotel of this level. The whole thing also made my mum's stay negative.

The view of Noto is unbeatable, and Baglio Genovesi is a lovely, clean villa with a few guest rooms. The lighting at night gives it a nice atmosphere. When I asked for help arranging a small birthday surprise for my partner, the hotel responded quickly and got us two cassatinas, a candle, and a little note. That was thoughtful. Hospitality was disappointing, though. The staff barely interacted with us when we arrived or left, and at checkout they didn't even ask how our stay had been. It left a bad impression. Breakfast and coffee were poor too. There were very few options, the fruit didn't look fresh, the pastries were dry, and the nuts tasted like Lidl ones. Given Sicily's variety of fruit and nuts, I found that strange. Both the espresso and cappuccino tasted bad. The property itself is very nice and clean, but the service needs work.
