Hotel Borgo Alto

The area is amazing, with lots of greenery and plenty of space, and the location is excellent. But it badly needs maintenance: there were broken bits outside, cracked tiles, broken wood by the pool, and hardly any decent umbrellas. The guy there was rude, though the owner sounded extremely nice. Pity, I can’t give it more than 3 stars.

The views and calm surroundings at Borgo Alto really are beautiful, but poor management and neglected facilities made the stay a letdown. The owner was one of the worst hosts I’ve come across, inattentive and seemingly uninterested, leaving my friends and me feeling unwelcome. The person meant to look after the property was similarly unhelpful, often watching Tik Tok videos instead of dealing with guests’ needs. The tennis court was in disastrous disrepair and virtually unusable, and the football pitch was so neglected it seemed better suited to growing potatoes. Indoors, many of the air conditioning units in shared areas didn’t work, making it uncomfortable to gather in the heat. Half the kitchen hobs were also out of order, limiting the ability to prepare meals. The setting is idyllic and tranquil, but these issues spoiled the experience. Until the management, amenities, and upkeep improve, I can’t recommend Borgo Alto to travelers looking for an enjoyable, hassle-free stay.

We arrived in the early hours, and the owner was waiting to show us around. The place is tucked away from the usual bustle, which we liked. A few of us had no hot water for showers, but we still enjoyed our short stay and would consider coming back.

I wouldn't say it was worth the cost.
