House&Villas - Relais Casa Bonivini - Grecale

The owner was friendly and ready to help, which made the stay a really positive one. Even on the hottest days, the air around the property felt pleasantly dry and breezy. Its location also works well as a base for trips to different seaside resorts, and for lovely dinners in nearby towns in the evening. The owner was happy to share recommendations.

We stayed at Relais Casa Bonivini from July 16th to 20th, and it felt like being at home. The owner was so kind and welcoming. It's a peaceful, green setting that works well for families. The best beaches are about a 15-minute drive away, and the nearest town, with all the amenities you might need, is just as close. We'd definitely come back.

The pool and garden helped make the stay bearable, and Marzamemi and Portopalo are conveniently about 15 minutes away by car. But at this price, I wouldn't return, I'd stay elsewhere next time. We first booked the "Grecale" bungalow, but the washing machine shown in its description wasn't there. We could move to another house on the property when it became available the next day. The Grecale also had a very unpleasant smell throughout the house after showering, though we couldn't work out what caused it. The "main house" / "villa" had a washing machine and kitchen, but cleanliness was only so-so. The bathroom hadn't been properly cleaned, and the pans and pots were so dirty we bought our own to cook with. The oven didn't work. The main fuse, in the meter box on the street, tripped several times while we showered. I was also uneasy about the rest of the electrical wiring, with several outlets where the washing machine and water heater were plugged in.

The play of shapes and light gives the place a magical feel, and it's just right for a few days of real relaxation. It's spotless and very well cared for, with the sea and other nearby sights easy to reach.
