Hotel Porta Reale

Our room was in a separate building and came with a private terrace. It was modern, spotless, and quiet. The hotel is just beyond Porta Reale at the entrance to Noto, so you can walk everywhere in town. The staff were very friendly, and we enjoyed watching the sunset from the lovely rooftop terrace with the welcome cocktail they offered. Thank you, I recommend it.

The hotel itself was nice, and the woman at reception on the night of 24 aug was lovely and helpful. But the man sitting on the left at reception on 25 aug was mean and disrespectful. After checking out, we had to return to the restroom twice because of an emergency, and he got angry about it. It felt like kindness was only available when money was involved.

Good drinks at reasonable prices, and the rooftop is a lovely little place to watch the sunset. The chairs are plasticky and not especially comfortable, but it's still well worth checking out.

The rooftop bar's complimentary welcome drink came with friendly hospitality from Salvo, who introduced us to some local products and drinks. Breakfast was included and quite good, especially the ricotta filled croissants and fresh orange juice. Our room was clean, comfortable, and quiet, with air conditioning that worked well. It seemed recently renovated. The hotel sits at the start of Noto’s main historical street, close to the architectural sights, restaurants, and shops, while still being in a calm area. I'd absolutely recommend it to anyone staying in Noto.
