Gasthof Meierei

Gasthof Meierei impressed us even during the busiest week of the year, the first week of January. The breakfast and Tyrolean food were excellent, and the service was superb. There’s a warm family feel in a traditional Tyrolean setting. Highly recommended!

The breakfast was amazing, just delicious, and the hosts were extremely friendly. They helped us with parking and directions. The place is very close to Carezza lake, but walking there can feel dangerous because of the cars. There’s a car park next to the lake for 1€/h, which I highly recommend using for a visit. I wish we could have stayed longer than one night. Coming up from Bolzano, the road felt a bit scary in heavy rain and darkness, so take care if arriving late.

The food was the main pleasure of my visit to Gasthof Meierei. The dishes used fresh local ingredients, and the care in the preparation came through. Each plate balanced local flavors with creativity, and even dessert was beautifully presented and delicious. Staff were attentive and warm, with helpful recommendations and details about the ingredients and how the food was prepared. The place itself has a cozy, rustic feel, with wooden details and traditional décor that made me comfortable as soon as I arrived. Gasthof Meierei felt like more than just somewhere to eat. It was a memorable experience, whether for a romantic dinner, a meal with friends, or a little moment of culinary bliss.

The room had breathtaking views, and the food was delicious at fair prices. I especially loved the goulash at dinner. Breakfast was very good too. I’d happily stay again, and for a little longer next time.
