Rechenmachers Rosengarten

The wellness area, with its pool and sauna, was a lovely way to relax. Our room was roomy, comfortable, and clean, with breathtaking views of the Dolomites. The staff were attentive and friendly throughout our fantastic stay at Rechenmachers Rosengarten. Highly recommended!

Breakfast was a pleasure each morning, thanks to the friendly, attentive staff. Alexander also deserves a special thank you for making us feel so welcome. We had a spacious, comfortable, spotless room, and the whole stay with our kids felt relaxed and well cared for. We'd love to come back to Hotel Rosengarten.

We ended up sleeping in our car after a late night discharge from the hospital, with nowhere else to go. My husband and I had booked a non-refundable room at Rosengarten Hotel, but shortly before check-in I badly sprained my ankle and had to go to hospital. While I was in the emergency room, we asked a nurse to call ahead and explain that we'd arrive late. The hotel said nobody would be at reception at that hour and offered no help or other option. A few days later, we explained the medical emergency again and asked if they could give even a partial refund. They refused, without any sign of understanding. We know what non-refundable means, but this wasn't a cancellation or a change of plans. It was an emergency. It's deeply disappointing that the hotel stuck to its policy instead of showing basic compassion. I'd urge others to think about that before booking. We'll never return.

I won't book here again. When war broke out in Israel and the skies closed, international airlines suspended flights, including Ryanair, which I was due to fly with. I contacted Hotel Rosengarten and sent documents showing that travel was objectively impossible. The reply was cold and automatic, with no compassion. I explained the emergency and quoted Italian and European consumer law, but was told it was “not their problem.” They showed no flexibility or empathy, and didn't even provide a formal letter for Booking.com. There was just silence. It's beyond disappointing to see a European hotel respond this way to a guest whose country is under missile attacks. Whether that was indifference or something worse, I'll leave to others to judge. To me, hospitality is measured in humanity, not luxury. Avoid it unless your plans are completely certain and you don't need them to show humanity.
