B&B La Focara

The street-facing rooms are in a recently renovated ground-floor house, and traffic noise did disturb my sleep. Inside, the room and en suite bathroom were both spacious, simple, and clean. I did miss having hand soap. There were just two single-use shower gels per person, though they added more on my second day after I asked. Breakfast is included: the owner brings warm pastries in the morning, and there’s also toast, jam, coffee, milk, juice, and water. I’d have preferred a few extra coffee pods instead of only one per person.

The owner was excellent, helpful, and easy to reach whenever we needed anything. The B&B is lovely and conveniently located a few kilometers from Lecce and the seaside town of Porto Cesareo. Our room was reasonably clean and nicely equipped, but storage was limited: a dresser would help, or at least a bigger table than the patio table. The bedside shelves are small too, and there was room for more surfaces in the spacious room. The bathroom was large and clean, although the shower head had limescale on it. Breakfast was a little too simple for us: two pasticciotti from a local pastry shop, toast with jam, and one coffee pod each. They gave us more pods the next day when we asked. One other small thing, a bottle of hand soap by the sink would be better than the disposable 7 ml shower gel bottles. Still, highly recommended.

The warm pastries at breakfast were the best I've ever had, and the breakfast overall was excellent. The property is new and comfortable, and the room was always clean. The owner and staff were very kind and attentive to what we needed. Thanks for everything, I hope to come back soon.

Breakfast brought an unexpected treat each morning, a fresh pasticciotto that was delicious. We had a wonderful stay and highly recommend the property. Our room was roomy and clean, with comfortable beds, a TV, and air conditioning. It's ideally placed for getting between the Ionian and Adriatic coasts, and the owner was kind, extremely helpful, and always available to take care of our requests.
