Mia Hotel Numana

The sea was beautiful, clear and gravelly, so beach shoes are a good idea. It was usually a bit rough, with the seabed dropping off quickly and the wind picking up through the day. The hotel is right across the road from the beach, and access to the partner establishment was included in our stay. The young reception staff were kind and courteous. The partner restaurant's food was average, though meals there cost extra for half-board or full-board guests. We hadn't been told it was about 300 meters from the hotel, and assumed food would be served at the hotel. Walking there for lunch in the hottest part of the day wasn't pleasant. I requested and paid for a reserved parking space when booking, but it wasn't available when I arrived. I only got one the next day, after asking several times. The much-promoted rooftop pool had just a couple of umbrellas and five or six loungers, all apparently occupied, so my wife and I went straight to the beach instead. Our room was fairly clean, but very sparsely furnished. There was no luggage rack, so our suitcases sat on a chair throughout the stay. The only storage was an open cabinet without lockable doors or drawers, so we kept linens and other things in the suitcases and had to rummage for them. The mini fridge was on a shelf at floor level, awkward to reach, especially for anyone with back problems. Management needs to make the improvements mentioned above.

What stood out was the rooftop pool and its lovely view over the turquoise water at Marcelli. The staff were warm and ready to help, and the hotel itself is quiet and very well cared for. Its location is excellent, with the partner restaurant just nearby for lunch or dinner by the sea. The food there is excellent too.

That late afternoon swim was the best part of our stay at Mia Hotel. We were there August 4-11, and found a practically new building, with a smiling, super friendly team. Our side sea-view room had all the comforts we needed, including a fridge, drying rack, and eco-friendly bathroom products. Breakfast was generous; labels for the dishes would make it easier to see what’s available. There’s parking for guests, and the town’s free shuttle makes getting to Numana very easy. The young team were always available, which made for a relaxing holiday. This recently renovated hotel sits on the Marcelli seafront, and some rooms have terraces with enviable views. I did notice there’s no kitchen where guests can eat if bad weather makes going out difficult. A poolside aperitif option would be a nice addition. Well done!
