Country House Andromeda

It's very peaceful here, with comfortable rooms and a superb breakfast. The location is excellent, though it can be inconvenient. Maybe they could add a fitness center or something along those lines.

We got the peaceful weekend we were hoping for. The room and pool were both well cared for, and breakfast was a treat, especially the cream puffs. The owner was so kind and helpful, and always smiling. When we left, they gave us a package of local pasta, which was a lovely gesture and not something guests get very often these days. Highly recommended 👍🏼

The pool is spacious and very well looked after, and there's a hot tub too. We spent two relaxing nights here on our way back from our holiday in Puglia, a great stop for a breather when driving between northern Italy and Puglia. The setting is beautiful and unusual, with views over the hills of the Marche hinterland. Stefano, the owner, welcomed us warmly, offering an aperitif in the evening and a snack the next afternoon. You can also have a light lunch or excellent aperitifs by the pool, made with fresh local ingredients.

The pool situation was the biggest letdown. Without any warning, the host rented it out to groups of outsiders for daylong events: about 15 people, including children, for a birthday on Monday, August 12; around 20 young people for Ferragosto on August 15; then roughly 15 guests for a 33rd birthday on August 16. He said he needed the money to cover costs. We hadn't expected to have the pool to ourselves, but with only eight rooms and having paid for a stay at the property, we never imagined sharing it with noisy groups of strangers. We ended up leaving to find some peace. I’ve attached a photo. This showed little regard for guests who had come for a quiet holiday, and we had to look elsewhere to relax. We spent five nights at Country House Andromeda, and the stay fell well short of what we expected from a peaceful country retreat. Our room had a private patio, but was missing bedside lamps, working blackout curtains, and proper bathroom counter space. There was just a little shelf above the sink, so everything else had to go on the floor. Getting basic things sorted was a struggle too. Asking for fresh towels partway through the stay or another roll of toilet paper took more effort than it should have. Breakfast was included, but was a real sore spot. The host brought out pre-cut cake from a small room, plus two slices each of Milanese salami, cheese, and toasted bread. There were two bottles of fruit juice, a kettle of American coffee, and another with lukewarm milk. The cakes were stale and awful, and the same ones kept appearing and disappearing into the host's room over our five days. Whatever the host says otherwise, he's LYING! I cook, and I know poor food and questionable recycling when I see it. I’ve attached a photo.
