La Neviera Nel Pozzo

The apartment is roomy and has a lovely old-fashioned feel, like stepping back in time. The bathroom is the one drawback, since it's a little cramped.

The town-center location was a real highlight, and breakfast had plenty to choose from. The terrace was less well stocked, though the evening view from there was fantastic. I stayed five days and regret not getting to meet the host.

The staff were warm and helpful, and even took us down to the basement, which used to be a cold store. Our suite felt almost apartment-sized, with rustic furnishings, a big sofa, double sink and whirlpool tub. Wine bottles and a couple of small bookcases made it feel welcoming. The bed and bathroom were spotless. Some other parts could use attention: the floors and furnishings were a bit dirty, the railings and taps looked worn, and we could hear things through the walls.

I loved the little terrace, especially for watching the stars or the sunrise turn the mountains pink above the Marche coast. The owner's kindness and the easygoing atmosphere made New Year's Eve a wonderful one for me. The property has a rustic, nostalgic character right in the heart of beautiful Offida.
