Bellagio Village

We rented four villas for four days for my family during my wedding in Barni, and the experience was deeply disappointing. We spent nearly €20,000 and expected clear communication, reliable basics, and a well-maintained property. Instead, we felt gaslighted by Ricardo and his sister, who told me to go ahead and sue them. My family kept quiet about the problems to avoid adding stress while I was there for my wedding. Check-in was confusing. Ricardo seemed ready to show us around, but we didn’t have time, and a printed guide for each villa would have been much more useful. He also seemed unaware that we’d booked multiple villas under the same name. He warned us that the electrical system wasn’t designed properly and that using several appliances at once could trip the breakers. As a licensed Professional Electrical Engineer who has worked on international projects, I consider that poor design practice and likely not code-compliant even in Italy. On the first night, the air-conditioning breaker tripped at 5 AM. People woke up hot and got bitten by mosquitoes. When I raised it, Ricardo acted surprised and said no one had “ever been bitten by mosquitoes” before. The hot tub was another major problem. My cousin found it wasn’t hot, even though it was prominently advertised on the website and brochure and was a major reason we chose the property to host wedding family. We reported it, but nothing was done during our stay. They said 28.6C was hot, which I find absurd. I doubt the sensors were adequately calibrated and installed to maintain that temperature. Hot tubs usually reach 40C, not a temperature 9C below body temperature. There was also malfunctioning WiFi, and one villa had no hot water for showers. I could say more, but I don’t want to spend any more time on it.

Just an awesome place. From stepping into the villa until check-out, we enjoyed our time. Ricardo, the manager, was supportive and positive.

The bedrooms were incredibly comfortable, and the villa had everything we needed. The views were stunning, the amenities were top notch, and the private pool was a real treat for our group with younger children. Alizee was the kindest, most accommodating concierge. She answered any question or concern right away, and I highly recommend reaching out to her. My only suggestion is to add blackout curtains in the bedrooms and a curtain to the bedroom with a bare window, since light comes in at sunrise. We loved our stay. Alizee and the team made our family vacation a dream. She arranged excursions, dinners, and transportation at short notice, and the service from her and the team felt like a 5-star hotel. Villa Costanza was unreal, with view after view, immaculate grounds, and a beautiful villa with every amenity we could want. The sauna and steam room were amazing.
